Dr. Jinyoung Kim Park is a seasoned educator and consultant with more than 30 years of experience navigating and connecting the educational landscapes of South Korea and the United States. As the founder of JY Education, she offers highly personalized consulting services for families seeking "best-fit" independent schools and programs, guiding students to thrive throughout their unique educational journeys.

Academic & Professional Background

Dr. Park’s academic foundation began in Seoul, where she graduated from Ewha Womans University. Following her graduation, she moved to the United States to support her husband’s graduate studies. During this time, she dedicated herself to raising her two children, an experience that deeply informs her understanding of the challenges and hopes shared by the families she serves today.

Driven by a lifelong commitment to education, she later returned to her own studies, earning both her Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (specializing in TESL) from the University of Kansas. Her professional journey includes university teaching, founding and directing the Lawrence Korean School, and longstanding community involvement in both Korean and American school systems. This breadth of experience allows her to offer a unique blend of pedagogical theory and practical, heart-led guidance.

Professional Affiliations

Dr. Park has been a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) since 2015. Her commitment to the association dates back to 2007, and this long-standing tenure reflects her deep dedication to the highest ethical and professional standards in global educational consulting.

Innovative Cultural & Academic Programs

Beyond one-on-one consulting, Dr. Park creates transformative programs that bridge cultures. Her Visiting Korean Students Program, developed with leading private schools in Connecticut, offers deep immersion into U.S. school and home life. Additionally, she is currently overseeing the launch of the inaugural 2026 Korea Immersive Exploration (KIE) program, a flagship initiative designed to provide U.S. students with a premium window into the innovation and history of South Korea.

A Personal Perspective on Success

Dr. Park’s work is personally informed by her own family’s path through some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including Phillips Academy (Andover), Seoul International School, Columbia University, Harvard University, New York University, and Oxford University (Rhodes Scholar). Today, her children contribute to their fields as a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and a healthcare consultant at UCSF.

Guiding Philosophy

At JY Education, we prioritize "best-fit" placements that honor the needs of both the student and the family over simple rankings. We find the greatest satisfaction in seeing students discover their potential, build confidence, and achieve meaningful growth in an environment that truly supports their thriving.
