The JY Education Approach
1. A Connection Between Two Cultures
Founded by Dr. Jinyoung Kim Park, JY Education is rooted in a deep, personal understanding of both Korean and American educational landscapes. After graduating from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Dr. Park moved to the United States to support her family’s transition while raising her two children.
With more than 30 years of experience as an educator and consultant, she offers a thoughtful, seasoned perspective on how both school systems operate and how students can best find their place within them.
2. Professional Standards & Academic Perseverance
Dr. Park’s professional journey is a testament to her belief in lifelong learning. After raising her family, she returned to her studies with renewed purpose, earning both her Master’s degree and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas.
Her academic background provides a strong pedagogical foundation for her work. Reflecting her commitment to professional excellence, she has been a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) since 2007, achieving Professional Member status in 2015.

A Parent’s Perspective
My commitment to your child’s success is informed by my own family’s educational journey. I understand the hopes and challenges parents feel because I have stood in your shoes. I have had the privilege of supporting my own children as they navigated some of the world’s most respected institutions, from Phillips Academy (Andover) and Seoul International School to Columbia, Harvard, NYU, and Oxford, not to mention public schools in both countries.
Having seen my children grow into their respective fields—including a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and a healthcare consultant at UCSF—I am honored to bring those personal lessons and professional insights to the families I serve.

Beyond individual consulting, JY Education offers specialized programs designed to foster global citizenship and long-term cultural exchange:
- Visiting Korean Students Program: A long-standing 3-4 week immersion into respected U.S. private schools in Connecticut.
- Korea Immersive Exploration (KIE): Launching its inaugural session in Summer 2026, this premium 9-day educational journey is designed to become a cornerstone tradition, offering U.S. high school students an exclusive window into the culture and innovation of South Korea.
