The director of JY Education, Dr. Jinyoung Kim Park, is an experienced and dedicated educator. As a mother of a family that has lived in both America and South Korea and as an individual who has always had interest in the best education for students, Dr. Park has been offering educational advice to Korean families - whether they live in the States or in Korea - for over 20 years.
Dr. Park first became actively involved in the educational field when she co-founded the Lawrence Korean School (LKS), for which she served as principal for many years. During those years, she helped numerous Korean students maintain and develop their control over their native language and knowledge of their heritage culture.
She has continued to provide genuine advice to whomever needed it through her ensuing titles as a translator, counselor, teacher, etc.
She has recently achieved her Ph.D. in Education (with an emphasis on ESL) at the University of Kansas (KU) in Lawrence, KS where she had obtained her M.A. degree in TESOL as well.
Having attended graduate school in America with her previous academic years spent in Korea, Dr. Park has personally experienced the educational systems of both countries. Furthermore, she has sent her two children to a myriad of schools including American public schools, Korean public schools, an American boarding school, a Korean international school, and American universities. Through her experience as the mother of such multicultural students, Dr. Park has gained even more invaluable experience with the educational systems of America and Korea.
Dr. Park is regularly visiting boarding schools and colleges across America in hopes of attaining up-dated and first-hand information about each shool as well as building and keeping personal relationship with the admission officer in the schools in order for better serving you and your children.
